Alma, Michigan
(Gratiot County) Alma is 6.05 square miles. Population 9,383 (county 42,276). Mt. Pleasant, Saginaw, Midland, Bay City, Lansing, St. Johns, Ithaca and St. Louis are all within 50 miles of Alma. Mt. Pleasant, Michigan

Mt. Pleasant is 7.9 square miles (Isabella County is 572 square miles). Population 26,016. Housing is affordable and diverse, from historical homes with mature trees in stable neighborhoods of single-family homes to condominium subdivisions and apartment dwellings. Major Employers include Saginaw-Chippewa Indian Tribe; Central Michigan University, Morbark Industries, The Delfield Company, Meijer Corporation, LaBelle Management, CME Corporation, and Unified Brands.

Ithaca, Michigan
(Gratiot County)
Population 2,910. Ithaca is surrounded by Michigan's richest farm land. Agriculture is a major economic factor in Gratiot County. Agricultural research and advanced manufacturing are growing in Ithaca and the surrounding area. Ithaca boasts two Michigan Certified Business Parks and two Michigan Tax-Free Renaissance Zones. AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Compared to other states and cities in the region, Michigan's cost of living remains more affordable. The Median sale price of housing in Gratiot County in 2015 was $66,000, and in Isabella it was $110,750 (according to the NGLR MLS). Central Michigan has much to offer; whether you want to live in the country, or in a larger city (such as Mt. Pleasant), you have many options to rent or own.

LOCAL FESTIVALS
Central Michigan has many festivals and celebrations to choose from. Some examples include Shepherd's Maple Syrup Festival (complete with a city-wide yard sale), Alma's Highland Festival (bring your kilt!), and St. Louis' Blues Festival.

Michigan is the only state that touches 4 of the 5 Great Lakes. No matter where you are in Michigan, you're never more than 85 miles away from a Great Lake! Michigan is home to diverse educational opportunities. University of Michigan, Michigan State, Wayne State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Oakland University, Alma College...Michigan boasts great colleges with interesting programs, and in varying sizes. CMU (Central Michigan University) can be found in Isabella County, and is very involved in the Mt. Pleasant Community. They not only offer a great education, but also are a major employer.

MT. PLEASANT SENIOR CARE AND ASSISTED LIVING GUIDE
The senior population of Mount Pleasant is 8.4 percent, well below the national average of 15.6 percent in the United States. Despite the low senior population, the Mount Pleasant area still has eight assisted living facilities, with six in Mount Pleasant and two in nearby towns like Midland.
